About David Salvage
I'm a writer and psychiatrist. I'm currently working on my second novel and coordinating a literary series that draws together poets, novelists, and others experimenting with the form into a dialogue.
I grew up in the South Bronx and attended Hunter College High School. During the 1970s the city was falling apart, bankrupt and filled with wild crime, but it made for an interesting sense of energy. As an undergraduate at Sarah Lawrence College I studied literature and philosophy and while in medical school continued writing short fiction and critical essays, winning several honors and awards. In my medical training at Bellevue I was consistently drawn to the human power of speech to both illuminate, terrify, and break the heart.
The Dolphin Smiles is my first novel. I'm trying to reach an audience that wants something beyond chic lit. Welcome aboard! |
